Privacy Policy

This privacy policy governs your use of the software application BEATLANE ("Application") for mobile devices, which was created by the developer. The Application is a single-lane, swipe-based rhythm game.

1. Information Collection and Use

The Application does not request your real name, email address, physical address, phone number, or precise location. The advertising and backend services described below may process device identifiers, advertising data, and an anonymous account identifier.

A. Local Data (On-Device Storage)

The Application stores certain settings and progress data locally on your device using local storage APIs (via @capacitor/preferences). This data includes:

  • Game settings (audio volume, calibration offset, haptic feedback toggle).
  • Local leaderboard scores and history.
  • Your chosen local player name.

This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you opt-in to the Global Leaderboard.

B. Global Leaderboard & Firebase Services (Opt-In)

The Application offers an optional Global Leaderboard feature powered by Google Firebase. If you choose to submit your score to the Global Leaderboard:

  • Anonymous Authentication: The Application uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication to assign a unique, randomly generated ID to your session. This ID does not contain any personal information and is used solely to authenticate and associate your score entries in our database.
  • Leaderboard Data: When you submit a score, the Application uploads your chosen nickname (Player Name), your score, gameplay stats (accuracy, difficulty level), and a timestamp to our Firestore database.
  • Opt-In Nature: Submitting scores to the Global Leaderboard is entirely voluntary. If you do not click the "Submit to Global Leaderboard" button, no data will be uploaded.

C. Advertising and Tracking

The Application uses Google AdMob to display banner, interstitial, and rewarded advertisements. Subject to your device settings and consent choice, AdMob may process a device or advertising identifier, IP address, ad interactions, diagnostics, and approximate location derived from an IP address for third-party advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, and security. On iOS, the Application requests permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework before accessing data used to track you across other companies' apps and websites. You may deny this request and still use the Application.

The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If we discover that a child has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with information, please contact us so that we can take necessary actions.

4. Security

We value your trust in providing us with anonymous leaderboard data, and we strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top.
